Due to power outages, we are implementing a delayed start today (Wednesday, November 20) at the following schools:
- Hans Helgesen Elementary
- John Muir Elementary
- Saseenos Elementary
We will provide further updates on when we expect the schools to reopen for students. Please note that there will be no morning bus services to these schools.
For families of John Muir Elementary and Saseenos Elementary, if you are unable to keep your child(ren) at home until power is restored, they can be dropped off at Sooke Elementary for supervision. We have available space and staff to support them.
For Hans Helgesen Elementary families, please keep your child(ren) at home until further notice. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer childcare services at this time due to limited space.
The decision to send your child to school is entirely up to you, and we fully support and respect your choice. If you decide not to send your child, please notify the school to report their absence.
An email notification has been sent to all families of students registered at these schools.
